Personal Business
- According to Medicaid Waiver guidelines, you cannot complete personal business while working with a participant, even if it is okay with a participant.
- You cannot take a participant with you to do your banking, pay bills, renew your driver’s license, personal shopping for yourself, your own doctor’s appointments, etc.
Cell Phone Usage
- You must use your cell phone to clock in and clock out when working with a participant.
- Cell phones may only be used when working with a participant for the following reasons: To call the office, check on your children or other family members in case of an emergency or you have an emergency happening with a participant.
- You may not use your cell phone when working with a participant to text friends, Facebook, search the internet, watch movies, or any other social network, etc.
- You are in no situation, ever allowed to text and drive or use your cell phone when you are transporting a participant in your car.
Social Media
- You are not allowed to post any pictures of a participant on any social media sites, in any case, ever.
- You cannot post pictures of a participant on any social media sites even if the participant or a family member gives you permission to do so.
- You cannot post any personal information about a participant on any social media sites regardless if they gave you permission to do so.
- You may not use any social media sites to post pictures of yourself while working with a participant.
- Social media sites include the following: Facebook, Snap Chat, Instagram and any other social outlet on any browser.
